WHAT ARE PEOPLE'S OPINIONS ON THEIR ACCENTS ?Everyone has a fave, and a most hated if truth be told.I,personally, love a nice soft Irish accent.Sorry Brummies - Its got to be the most boring accent of the lot.You can have a go back at us Geordies if you want, but generally, people seem to think we have a nice friendly accent.Hardest to understand would I think be a very broad Scottish accent - just too fast - although they do say that about Geordies as well !!

I have a Black country accent, which most people think sounds like Brummie, but they are different.I have to admit its horrible.Scouse accents, and northern Irish like that women reporter on GMTV are the ones I dislike the most, but ours is bad.
I'm a cockney so ours is great, but some brummies sound a bit slow, I know that is what people say about cockneys, but we "aint fick rite" I love southern irish and an Edinburgh accent they always sound great
I like the lilting accents found in the west coast and highlands of Scotland (but then I am Scottish, so a tete biased!). Irish accents (Northern or Southern) are lovely on the ear, and I could listen to Chris Coleman (Welsh) for a long time without tiring of hs accent. Anything celtic I guess.
I love the Northern Ireland accent & quite like the Jordy one too.
Nearly forgot - I have lived in Islington & Essex for a while, but have lived in Bedfordshire for 41 years. I have quite a nice accent, which when on the phone can sound rather posh! Well that's what my old school friends from Essex tell me!

My sister-in-law is Scottish (Greenock) & after all these years, I still can't understand a word she's saying, 'specially over the phone - which can be very frustrating when she's waiting for an answer & I don'r have a clue what she's just said! Mind you I love listening to Billy Connolly.

Nevcar28 - notice you spell it as Geordie & I as Jordy, but glad to see it can be spelt either way here.

*don't

I can't always place English accents, but I love someone speaking Oxford English.

American accents I am not very keen on.

In Germany, I seriously dislike the Saxon and Swiss accents.

I love the Southern Irish accent! No offence to Liverpudlians, but that accent really grates on me.

mightyWBA, my boyfriend's family all live in Rugeley and all say they don't like their Brummie accents either x

Oh, yes and I'm from Milton Keynes (not sure what accent you'd call that) x

I love geordie, liverpool cockney and scottish accents. Ones that do my head in (and apologies to everyone who comes from these places) are brummy and irish. I `come from West Yorkshire myself and from what I have heard a lot of folks dont like our accent

A brummie accent....from Rugeley ??....they're positively carrot crunchers, they're that far away.....and as for yam-yams (you know who you are !)....don't get me gooing....!!

Seriously though, I dislike all accents from anywhere outside of the M42 conurbation....so from this slow Brummie....on yer cowing bike...!!

BLACK COUNTRY and proud......

not too keen on dummy brummies.

love welsh and scotish, but only on the women..

dorset has a nice sound to it... :-)

Bolton / North West is best accent. End of.
Worst got to be Brummie...no offence to Brummies.

Best ....Irish birds ....very sexy
What you got against us Yams user66?Don't you think we're quaint??
My fave's are the lovely lilt of the Irish..southern or north and a Geordie accent. Cant bear the North Welsh accent, too gutteral and clipped.
Oops. Forgot to mention my own accent! Im from Cardiff,S Wales. I dont think I have an accent but meeting people on holiday's they always know we're south waliens. Maybe its the Kairdiff/Cardiff accent:--)
I'm from Belfast, and according to the answers so far, some will either like or loathe my accent then!! I've always loved a Liverpool accent, and am also very partial to a nice Welsh or Scottish accent in general.

in the old days we used to listen to ourselves on tape and say" that isnt me "-so since i found vodka i dont care too much

eeh bah gum.
