After reading I found out (well I think) that Kaktus is Danish.
Are there any other Danes on here ? If so I'd love to know if you live in the UK ? Or even if you don't.How did you end up here? What do you do now?

I love hearing life stories and especially from fellow Danes.

I'm 29 and came over here as an Au-pair when I was 18. Fell in love with my present boyfriend and has stayed since. I live and work in West London.

Hej Happy Face. I am Danish, I live in Copenhagen and have never lived in the UK. I think my boyfriend pointed me towards AB, he had found it somehow and thought it was fun, he doesn't contibute though. I lived in Nordsjlland until I was 18 and then moved to Copenhagen, first to work and then to study (I'm 23).

That's the short version :0)

I don't think I've stumbled across other Danes on here, but I think that Bartholomew (sp?)  has lived in Denmark.

happy-face hi, do you make nice Danish crackling like kaktus?

Hi Kaktus. How nice of you to reply.
My family live in Copenhagen too, well about 8 miles out. Roedovre.I love it when I get to go home. I love England but I think as a person you always have something special for your own mother country. I just love the relaxed mentality and the fact that where my mum lives is so lovely and quiet. When I was younger I loved the city hustle and bustle but I must admit with age you get to appreciate the quietness of nature.

My other half comes with me to Denmark often and he loves it there. One of his favourites is taking the canal boat trip from Nyhavn. Last Christmas I dragged him along to Museum Erotica and I've never laughed so much. He was rather stunned that there is such a thing and found it amazing that a Denmark was so liberated that they had porn in a museum..... tee hee hee

Graemer - is it the crackling on a roast pork joint you're talking about or is it pork scratchings ? I did once make pork scratchings when we bought 1/2 a pig and had to disect it to fit in the freezer. But I don't really like roast pork (apart from the crackling) so don't usually cook it.

Hej happy-face! I rediscovered the canal boats two years ago. A guy in my study group lives on Christianshavn with a view over the canal, every five minutes someone would say, let's go on a canal boat trip. I had forgotten how great it is to take lunch and beer with you while you make up silly stories about everything you see.

Graemer - have you made some good pork roast?

Hi Kaktus, I haven't yet but hoping to this weekend now that we are moving into winter here.
