Why are we all posting on here this morning when the weather outside is so beautiful?  (I do realise that some of you are at work)  I am now going to tear myself away and enjoy the weather (but it is going to be very, very difficult)

For me the answer is simple FP - it's cooler indoors!

Because its pi$$ing down its not warm everywhere!

Yes like Artful - it's very hot outside now, and I've been out for coffee so now relaxing.  I am also addicted to this site.
work. all weekend, no bank holiday! hope it rains all weekend :-)
I have been staring wistfully out of my window at the sunny weather all morning. As soon as 5:30 comes around I am out of here to enjoy three days with no work. Roll on home time (only 5 hours to go...).

Sorry WHJ and IMS!
No worries, I might just not bother and go to the lakes and potter about at 15mph on windemere, damned ban!
Question Author
IMS.  That ban seems totally stupid to me.  Where can you go now?  I listened to a radio debate about it and it seems that Windemere as a resort is now going to lose out badly because of the silly ban.  Windemere has always been very busy anyway - hardly a peaceful haven.  I love peace and quiet so would go to one of the other lakes by choice.  The world has gone mad.
Ptchah! Honestly, FP, it's all very well for you to complain about people wasting time on here when the weather is so nice, but some of us have to work for a living, you know.

Well, we have to be</> here, at least :-)
Me and my &*%($&ing HTML. :-(

littleoldme    I have worked all my life until the end of March and am now having a well earned break due to arthritis and severe tiredness.  Due to retire properly  in under two years.  It is so nice being at home and doing all the things I never got around to (not housework, by the way)  I am getting out and about, having fun in my large garden in the middle of the countryside,  enjoying my pets more and seeing friends I haven't seen for years.  Off to London in two weeks time.     I just love thinking of you all at work -  ;o)
It's really cold, wet and windy here......ahhh the joys  of livign on the east coast of Scotland!!!

Im doing my shopping on line using my wireless laptop in the garden and keeping an eye on AB as well, best of both worlds!

Haverigg, which is a bit further up than windemere. FP the shops and pubs have already started to close. My fave spotsmans bar has shut. The wakeboard school is shutting and all the people I go with have moved to haverigg. It is stupid and a decision that the government did not think through.

Ulswater and conniston are still quiet, but there is nothing better than a knees up in bowness.

FP - I was just teasing. :-) Glad you're enjoying your break, even if it has come about for unfortunate reasons. You make the most of it.

Anyway, I can't stay here chatting. I've got a full afternoon of skiving planned.
FP, it's only about 14oC in Belfast, and pouring!
