Mystery photos

Can anyone please identify the places in these photos, and give a possible date for the cars.The photos belonged to my OH's mum,they were actually negatives but I managed to transform them on the scanner,so the quality isn't that good.
The Family are from Redcar, so the places could be local to the area,but we really don't know.

could the thatched house be in marske?

I don't know dotty,what makes you think that?I had a quick look at a Marske site before I went to work there is mention of Winkies Castle, but I know where that is and it doesn't look like the picture as it's just a cottage on the main street.Do you think it looks like a wedding party?

"Why would the car be left-hand drive?" Maybe the negative was put in the scanner wrong side up.

You're right,Jonathan-Joe,I never thought of that, but the negatives would only scan with the shiny side up, therefore they are all in reverse.

Polly, could you "flip" them in MS Office Picture Manager or similar image application.

I took a look at them through a mirror it actually improves the picture by darkening it and giving clearer detail

These are Victorian age when the sun shined and Black and white photos ruled the earth. No idea of the location though. Post them off to a local museum, they might have an idea
