i have an austrian coin with the head of Maria Theresia on one side and a coat of arms on the other its dated 1760..its silver in colour but i think its actually an aluminium alloy of some type..its about 40mm in diameter..there is no value on the coin..does anyone know what it is?

Don't know what it is but it won't be aluminium as Sir Humphrey Davy wasn't born in 1760.
... I'd guess it's actually Silver

thanks naz.. I have found out it is a fake maria theresia thaler I'm not sure when they were made but they were made as play tokens out of aluminium..
just for interest, the Maria Theresa thaler became accepted worldwide for its purity.
The name became corrupted into "dollar"
It is a really lovely coin.
