What is the name of this toy?

I recently saw some alien looking soft toys in a specialist shop that sold things like hand made teddies.

The toys came in allsorts of shapes and sizes and looked handmade but weren't or at least I don't think so. They were quite flat and bizarre shapes. The eyes and noses were blanket stitched on. They came in a couple of sizes large and medium with the medium being about 9 inches and costing about �13.

Any ideas who makes these?
