I'm thinking of buying a chocolate fountain but don't really know much about them...do you buy the chocolate in liquid form or do you melt it in the actual fountain or on a hob first? Is the fondue chocolate expensive - can you buy it in supermarkets? How much chocolate do you need for using it once? I'm looking at one that's 40cm tall.

i got my chocolate fountain for christmas its a 35 something one its really good. you buy any kind of chocolate normally then heat it up on the hobs then pour it into your fouintain and turn on heat and the motor and it kepps melted for however long you wnat to keep it on for. when you buy it, it comes with a little bookelt telling you how much choico, ate you need for a number of people and how much veggie oil to put into it. Mine cost about 40 for a smallish one but its still great at parties just buy loads of choclate beacseu people tend to put there hand underneath it all to ccatch all the chocolate so i recomend buying loads of chocolate!!!!
my dad bought one from sephrafountains.com. they supply you with 2kg bags of milk, plain and white chocolate drops which are covered in a powder which helps the melting of the choc. our fountain allows you to place the drops in the base of the fountain where it melts really gently and it is fabulous!! enjoy!
you can get them at argos, the one i got comes with a booklet saying what to do. Mine needs 40kg of chocolate, just melted in the microwave then add half a cup full of vegetable oil so it can flow properly.
