I run about 15-20 miles a week and have done so for many years. I am fed up of buying shoes that just "dont suit" me. My current ones are Etonic and felt great in the shop but after a few runs they are making both my hips very sore. I have also tried other makes but find it very difficult to tell in the shop if they will be ok. Can anyone recommend any particular makes to me as its getting very expensive!. I am a female,39 years old, and weigh about 8 stone. Thanks

I sympathise with your problem.
I have just purchased an excellent pair of Asics trainers, partly based upon their 'running shoe advisor' locator.
All decent sport shoe shops should have the facility to film you running (free of charge) and they will be able to recommend the best pair of shoes based upon how you actually run.
Follow these two links:
www.asics.co.uk, and select the 'running shoe advisor', also, Saucony give details of some roadshows where experts can advise : www.saucony.co.uk, and select 'shoe lab'.
I hope this advice is helpful (and the hyperlinks work!)
Asics Asics Asics.... They are so good... At the running clun they all swear by them. I buy a pair every year and they do cost 70 but I cannot fault them and as you are running a reasonable distance it would be worth the investment.
Oh I have The GEL 2200's ..... other alternatives are New Balance but can't comment as have not had any... avoid the hight street fashion brands
