You could try the 'Save the Spudqueen' fund. Though I'm sure your local hospice could use the money well.
If u donate it,great, but treat yourself too!
thats such a lovely gesture, make sure u buy youself something tho!!

why not invest it........ donate some to charity but also any interest you made you can give to good causes too.

also... how about going on holiday - treating yourself a week away.....

Why do the lottery if you dont know what to do with the money !! People do the lottery to win money so go and spend it. Instead of doing the lottery in the future donate your stake money to a charity so you will never have this problem again !!

we dont do the lottery, its just that my wifes mother does and when she went shopping with her at the weekend, she bought her a lucky dip ticket which won.so instead of all the hassle that goes with it,we decided to give it away and we are going to give it to great ormond st hospital,is that allright with you, believe mate

As I've mentioned on other threads:

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children,

would be my first choice of donating too.

Norm congrats on your win and good on you and mrs dog, as that is a really lovely idea to donate it. I can't believe someone wading in and bit ching at you for doing something nice with an unexpected windfall. what a lovely attitude....not.

she won it,she donated it,i had to go along with it.it would have caused a lot of aggro in the family,so best all round for every one
you could always donate it to me I'm sure I could find a good way of spending it . jokes aside congratulations and have a good old spend up
why not donate some of the money to a local good cause? a school, youth club etc, a charity which would really benefit rather than one which wouldn't

How about Macmillan Nurses.

Well done, by the way!

Macmillan Nurses, I recently saw the work they do, brilliant. But just donate a portion -- enjoy the rest. Pay off some of the mortgage? Sounds dull but good idea long term. Save some for a rainy day (like when the rest runs out). Treat yourselves to something you would never never buy before, or could never afford to. Make the most of it, it's unlikely to happen again !

CONGRATULATIONS

I have always said if I won the lottery I would give money away to people I saw on the streets who looked like they needed a bob or 2.

I recently saw a Mum struggle to pay 40 on her Gas heating card in the Post Office. Now how nice to hand over say 200 (or whatever ) and pay her heating for the winter. That would leave you with a very nice feeling inside.

I would do little things like that because I always feel if you give it away to charity then there is always some men in suits having a little slice of the cake as well. Or I would buy the scanner (or whatever it was they needed) myself and present it to the hospital. Or pay to have the Childrens ward redecorated and new toys and books delivered.

Don't forget to have a treat yourself.

Many congrats Norm, may I suggest you donate some to the Alzheimer's Society, a truly worthwhile cause.

i did it last night, weds, and guess what i got 4 numbers, 49.not bad for someone whos never done it before.

I need some where to live lol - I am being kicked out - which is nice.

If this is true then have fun with it - you only live once!

wow - at least there are some kind hearted generous people out there still! You could split it and donate it to some different charity's if your having trouble deciding which one. but i agree with willspal's idea though...give some to people you see who need it - would make their year!

BTW i'm a student trying to get through uni....could do with 50 to buy the books i need!! LOL ;op

Good on you for being such nice people though!!

congratulations. i don't suppose you fancy sponsoring me for an abseil? my 6 month old daughter has plagiocephaly or flat head syndrome which requires a cranial helmet which the nhs won't pay for. the helmet costs 1850 and i can't afford that so i have to do the abseil even though i am terrified of heights.
