I have a movie which I am trying to burn to disc, but every time I burn to a dvd disc there is no sound. The movie consists of several .VOB files, and if I play them on my pc they are fine and the sound is ok. I am using Nero 7 software. The movie originally consisted of Rar files which I extracted using WinRar,and the result was the several .VOB files.Am I doing something wrong?I tried to recode the movie using Nero Digital, and this worked ok,both the movie and sound were on the dvd disc, but I could not watch the movie on my tv because my DVD player would not play a Nero Digital disc.

! wouldn't use Recode and Nero Digital - only a few DVD players can play Nero Digital. I use NeroVision (was Nero Vision Express in V6). Go to Make DVD, then DVD Video, then Add Video Files. It should recognise the VOB files (I'm just putting a TV programme recorded from a TV card (mpeg though) onto a DVD using this method. Note: if you don't want menus, only the film, go to Menus To Use in the top right corner of the next step's screen and choose Do Not Create a Menu.

Also check the quality is set to high quality for the best (it tends to default to automatic and uses less space.

Hope this helps - Happy New Year.
