morning, Monday and the start of the working week for some, i hope that you are all as well as can be and that your day is a good one, do you have anything planned for today?

the forecast here in the capital isn't so good, a high of 18c with rain showers, shame as yesterday was so beautiful.

Morning, Emmie. My sister is coming up around 1, and we're going to plant a few tomatoes in containers on my balcony. I has a southern exposure so it gets lots of sun. The variety is Early Girl, and they, hopefully, produce fruit in about 50 days. After that arduous task, we will sit on the balcony and refresh ourselves with a couple of beers.

Morning Emmie/sanmac. Didn’t manage to get to sleep at all till bout 3.30am and even then only managed an hour and was then was wide awake again, after just an hours sleep so feel like death! Drives me nuts when I do this as no reason whatsoever for it - am so tired so no idea why body doesn’t just switch off.

did you visit your in laws yesterday after all smow, if so how did it go.

Went really well Emmie, thanks - weather was amazing & so we could sit outside.

that's good, weather was lovely and warm, i sat in the local park and had my lunch there, a blissful couple of hours, nothing like the sun to make everything seem cheerful.

Some of my best sleeps/naps happen in the afternoon when I am sitting in my recliner chair reading a book. No radio or TV on, but it helps that I have three antique clocks tick-tocking away at different beats which is sort of hypnotizing!

i had a sleep when i got in yesterday, it helps.

That sounds v relaxing sanmac.

i have a clock in the living room that isn't supposed to tick tock but does, it's also very relaxing. I have no other distractions like tv or radio on, just the lazy hum of the traffic.

doesn't look likely i will be doing anything today, as said forecast here is for rain, and so a lazy day seems to be in order.

Imagine this in an otherwise quiet room with two other clocks ticking at a lower volume and different beats. Obviously, it wouldn't work for everybody:

I hate the noise of a ticking clock in a quiet room ! remember my granny had one that chimed every 15 mins and I hated it with a passion when staying over trying to sleep
