I went to Lidl for the first time since March, i had run out of shower stuff and having to watch what I use due to allergies needed a visit. Also I was short on white zinfandel wine. I do a click and collect at Aldi. They are out of stock of my wine so I felt desperate. So I went!!
It felt so good. I only went for wine and shower stuff. I didn't do a round the store trip but it felt good.

Well needed!
Last Friday I had to drive 13 miles for my Covid jab to somewhere I had never been - felt great just doing something different !

And doesn't it feel great?
And guess where I'm going tomorrow?...To get a haircut! I mentioned this on another thread the other day, but I'm so glad to get one that I'm saying it again ( I know, it's sort of silly). The region of Ontario where I live allowed barbers, bars, restaurants etc to open last Monday. The lady who cuts my hair, who I phoned last Monday, said that they were so busy she couldn't give me an earlier appointment...But who cares, I'm getting one. Strange times: Strange things to get excited about:)
Lucky you. They don't reopen till the 12th April here. At the moment I dare not leave the house for fear of being arrested as a vagrant.
The lady who cuts my hair is from Scotland, so I might remind her of home when I arrive looking like a wee Shetland Pony:)
Like brainiac, I drove a distance to get my vaccine. It's got to be odd to view that as an outing!
april 12th is earliest for hairdressers to open, can't wait, as i look like a shaggy dog... i hope to meet a mate at the weekend, if the weather is kind, we usually go for an outdoor coffee, as the local costa coffee only is doing takeaways.
Well, mission accomplished; I got back a couple of hours ago shorn of my Shetland pony disguise at a cost, in your money, of 11.30GBP. I feel a little light-headed:)
Well done, must feel better.
That's a very good price, given the circumstances.
My wife and I both went and both feel a lot better for it. The cost was $16 for the cut plus a well deserved tip of $4. They are really, really busy, and you have to make an appointment because they are only allowed to have so many people in the salon at one time.
My barber charges £7 (pensioners' rates) but I always round it up to £10.
Last haircut was end of November. On the 26th of December (midnight) we go into tier 4, so everything is shut.

Looks like nothing is going to happen to the barnet till at least April 26th, and that's assuming I'm first out the trap !! Would gladly pay what you paid sanmac to get the mop sorted.
If they had a mind to, hairdressers could name their own price once they reopen, and no-one will complain.
Grrrr! You are really annoying, Sanmac! I'd post more but can't see through the fringe! ;-)
just remember, the showr stuff goes on outside, the wine goes inside. Easys to forget after months locked deown.
I might be able to get a haircut; however, you in the UK and ROI are getting vaccines. I can't get the shot because, as I said on a previous thread, our imbecilic PM screwed up on getting them. Would you believe that last May he signed a contract with CHINA to develop a vaccine, and that fell through because of the Chinese...What a screw-up that was! I hear some people on here lambasting your PM, but at least he got the vaccination situation sorted out.
Not getting vaccines here in Ireland, Sanmac. Complete cockup. We mere mortals know why the vaccines aren’t arriving as they should but the government is waffling. Next time they come scratting for my vote I’ll have the hose ready......... :-(
