I took all my mum's clothes to one - got 26 quid for them!

I think they sell them abroad in the markets.
When we moved house we had such a lot of stuff, the one we went to took books and household goods as well as clothes got a nice little sum for all the stuff - sadly they are not taking any more books and household stuff now.
How do they value the old clothes, is it by each individual item or is it by the amount or the weight ?.
i usually give mine to a friend who runs a charity shop.
I just looked at their site...50p per kilo for clothes, which can add up I suppose. But only 5p for things like books and electrical items. And you've got to lug it there. :-(
They usually take a quick look at the clothes and if they are in decent condition , pay by weight.
So it's by weight then, thanks Pasta and andres.
