Put an item on ebay to sell by auction. Starting price 0.99.
Item was sold for 0.99. In the bid box it says there were 2 bids.
Surely the lowest had to be 99. Next bid had to be more that 99!
Waste of time trying to contact ebay. Anyone help?

Maybe more than one item for sale ?
Did it list 2 bidder ids?

I suspect that it was one bidder who place an initial bid but then went back and put in a higher bid - which would have come into play thanks to the proxy bidding if someone else bid on it.
I think maybe it was the same buyer just 'upping' his maximum bid. It would still show as 99p until somebody else makes a bid.
Typing too slow!!
You can get preloaded credit cards - you put money into them the you can use it for online purchases.

WH Smith stock them.
It's probably because the bidder placed a maximum bid, it would register has 2 bids ( 99p and bidders maximum ).

Why did my post to another ebay question end up in this question???.

Wierd!
The same person put on both bids, the second bid could have been any amount over 99p but unless another person bid as well the 1st persons bid would not increase. Happens all the time

Methyl, it is possible that the high bid was a mistake and that the bidder explained it to Ebay who allowed the bid to be withdrawn before the end of the auction.
