each bond is £1 but the minium you can buy is £100
They are £100, minimum investment. You can then set up a standing order to accumulate multiples of £100 for more. Maximum is £30,000
Is it just me that finds that a good reason to look elsewhere for somethng to do with my cash ?
I've not bought a premium bond for years - at least you get your money back if you cash them in
True, but not the interest you have gambled away. Inflation will have taken its toll.
Since she invested the full £30,000 my Mum's return has been as follows

2008 £850 2.83%
2009 £1100 3.66%
2010 £550 1.83$
2011 £450 1.5%
2012 £600 2.0%
