When I was a kid my mum collected miniature bottles of brandy, etc. They were all lined up on top the the curtain pelmet. Her pride and joy. My friend and I picked all the opaque bottles out and drank the contents. It was years before my parents noticed that the bottles were empty. Courvoisier was one of those. It`s bog standard brandy but not that bad if truth be told. Probably better for cooking with though. I wouldn`t throw it out.

I use it to feed my Christmas cake and Christmas pud....I'm not sure what that tells you but I usually find it hanging about at the back of my booze cupboard!

There are better cognacs and armagnacs, priced accordingly, but I certainly would't go so far as to rate Courvoisier as cooking brandy.

The last time I had any cognat was a couple of years ago when I nicked a few really expensive bottles from Daddy's stash. I don't normally drink it, so I'm no expert.

Brandy always reminds me of being ill as a child. My Mum and Dad always gave me brandy in milk to help me sleep if I was poorly!!
