Does anyone know how you can convert a man's chest size into a collar size? My son is very large and takes approx., chest 50-52 ins. in tops, which is what he noramlly wears. However he is starting a workplacement next week and wants to order a "proper shirt" from the Big Mans site.My husband is 6ft 3ins and about 16-17 stone and takes a 17ins collar.

17" collar is about 46-48" chest from memory

so I'd suggest that around 18" would be about right. Alternatively you could call them, most mail order places will happily answer sizing questions as they don't want you returning things if you can avoid it.

Could you not measure his collar size with a tape measure adding about 1/2 to 1 inch for comfort.
