Gavmacp, you made me look at my Saturday Telegraph and Page 3 is still there.
It is headlined by Queen Helen Mirren and her Corgi and that there may be a stage version, as well as the Queen's speaking voice has been gradually becoming less crystal-cut.
I never buy the Star, Sport or Sun, but if people want to buy them then I reckon this is one of the major reasons why. There are worse things happening in the world.
Quite right, mcfluff. It's not the just the girls' take on world events but their constant quoting of such as Nietzsche which I find reassuring. So good to see such an education in ones so young. Makes me proud to be British (and want to meet Tracey from Birmingham, 22, to discuss philosophy in depth). Is there any other reason to read it?
'E was nivver no good at owt at scool, so he fowt he could lern by gettin a paper, 'is boss at the garige finks he can read AND rite. Yew could be rite Tilly.
The Sun has a 'reading age' of 8 .it is written in a way and uses the vocabulary that an average 8 year old child should be able to read and understand. It is very popular in prisons ( I used to teach adult literacy in a prison I used to use it as a teaching aid / reading book.)
I know for fact that at least in prisons many people who buy it can't read, they only want Page 3.
Buy it mainly for its great sports content, read it from the back page to the front (read sports pages thoroughly, flick through rest of paper just reading what stories interest me, get to page 3 and seeing a beautiful topless babe finishes my read very nicely thank you)
It's not by far the most purchased newspaper in the country for nothing you know, so to all the do-gooders and womens libers on here........get a life
Agree joeluke. Half the adult population likes to look at beautiful women and the other half beautifies itself. Complainers might as well say that nude models in art are demeaning to women or paintings, in the National Gallery, of nude or topless women are insulting to women. The Sun simply presents the woman as a picture, with a self-mocking invented quote. We are not talking about 'top shelf' mags or adult TV channels which have an obvious sexual message.
