Am at a complete standstill here - have looked at every conceivable island - am I missing something or have I misinterpreted the puzzle?

Hilbre Island (Wirral)
Which is in Cornwall (lesson: read full question before engaging what little brain you have) !!!!!
yes, Raasay is a long way from Marazion......Scalpay is the nearest island but I don't know if that is accessible at low tide.

There's no island off the south coast of Raasay to which you can walk to at low tide, however, if you look on the west coast of Raasay, there is Eilean Fladday, which if the OS map is to be believeed "should" be reachable at low tide, i.e shown as white area of sea (above sea level at certain times?)
''The Isle of Scalpay lies just off the west coast of Skye, north of Broadford and south of the easily accessed Isle of Raasey. The channel between island and Skye, the Kyles of Scalpay, is a mere half kilometer wide at high tide and much less when the tide is fully out.''
Holoman Island looks Accessible at Low Tide
according to Google Earth both Scalpay and Skye are just over 1km away from points on the south of Raasay.
