Does anybody know where I can buy some smart grey trousers, preferably hipster fitting.  I have been looking for ages and can't find any!  The problem is compounded by the fact that I'm a shorty (petite), none too skinny at the mo, and quite poor.

Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

Have you tried BHS (British Home stores)?

They do several ranges of grey trousers & if you are 'petite', you may find some hipster ones in the childrens uniform department (aged up to 16). I was quite impressed when our daughter was looking for new uniforms for her daughter.

dorothy perkins are my fave for petite but not skinny smart trousers. and they are cheap too. (i am a shorty, size 12ish). depending how curvy you are topshop may work too (they don't cater for hips at all - which works for me)

Good luck

Next do a petite range with a good range of trousers
Please please please don't be offended, but, depending on what exactly "none too skinny" means, you may find that a pair that is half way between waist and hip is more flattering for you.  I have a pair of black trousers from New Look - bought them years ago for work and they have lasted incredibly well for only 20.  I also hope you've tried Primark! :-)

Thank you all for your suggestions.  I have tried Next (where I get most of my clothes!) but they have no grey at the mo (only suit type ones)

Do New Look and Pri Mark have a petite section as I can't sew and I can't keep getting my Mum to hem my trousers!

I will try Dorothy Perkins and BHS though.  Thanks Guys!

Can't honestly be sure if those two shops do have petit as I'm 5'8"!!  Maybe your mum could teach you to sew and you could save a bob or two that way, without feeling guilty.  I bet your mum loves doing that sort of thing though - looking after her girl! :-)
