Hello, We want to go to Bury Market for a day out as people say it is very good. Has anyone been and if so what sort of things do they sell? Also can anyone else recommend any other good markets?

Newcastle Quayside Sunday Morning Market. Grainger Market Newcastle is as good as Bury Market I think. Food - butchers, greengrocers, typical market tat etc. .
My favourite 'traditional' markets include Romford

Barnsley and Leicester:

Norwich is also very good:

Hemel Hempstead also has a good general market on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but Wednesday (which is 'bric-a-brac' day) is by far the best.

Vallaw, I am from Newcastle so I know the places very well you mentioned. Are you from Newcastle also? Thanks to you and Buenchico for your quick answers.
Not far away, but have lived all round the country including Lancashire.
If you are in the area this one is always worth a look:

However make sure that you dont try visiting on a race weekend as things can be a bit of a nightmare on the surrounding roads!
