I bought a pair of shoes today but when I got them home I realised that a tag was still attached to them. I thought that they were supposed to alarm when you leave the shop with them but apparently not!
Anyhow is there some way that I can remove the tag without having to go back to the shop? They were only cheap so don't really merit a journey all of their own!
The tag is one of the type that the assistants put into a mechanism and the back part seperates from the front. Maybe it is some type of magnetic connection?
I googled "how to remove a security tag" and I stopped looking for my answerbank question after 5 pages of results. Does that let me off the hook bagpuss and DT?
"Not very bright" - how rude bagpuss. What isn't very bright is thinking that an innocent question on one of literally millions of sites is going to assist random looters. Good grief.
yeh looters will love this question...because of course AB is the only place this sort of information can be found, and obviously this is the first and only place they will look...i bet they log in the second theyve taken their balaclavas off...
shivvy...what were you thinking?
i think some peoples partners will be getting bruised shins - what with all this kneejerking going on...
this happened to my daughter last year. apparently there are only 2 types of these security tags. take them to your local High Street (before 3pm to be safe!) and ask nicely.. but I think they'll be suss if you don't have the receipt!
By the way, it was Buenchico who posted the youtube link showing how to remove tags (many of which I suspect may be relating to stolen property - gasp) - is he not an AB Ed?
