I have to wear false eyelashes to a party on Saturday and have never wornm them before. I have purchased both self adhesive and the 'glue yourself' variety but I am generally very cack handed so the former seems to be the better option. Are there any tips for application ? Specifically do I put eyeshadow on first or lashes first - and the same with mascara on my natural lashes, before or after I apply the false lashes.

I am also blind as a bat and wear contact lenses, so will have to put these in first to be able to see what I am doing. Your help, as always, is much appreciated.

Is there someone that could put them on for you? The self adhesive ones tend to fall off half way through the night but I find the glue on Girls Aloud ones for around a fiver great. With the glue on ones you do your make up first then touch up once the eyelashes are on. I also wear contact lenses and am a bit cack handed but I manage to put them on ok. Good Luck :o)

Thanks Joanne, when you apply the glue do you apply directly to the skin, or onto a cotton bud and swipe across ? (or something else ?)
You apply the glue to the lashes.
Good look LDC! Never had any luck with false eyelashes ... don't end up like Incey Wincey :0)

Thank you all ! It's for fancy dress so at least if it isn't perfect, it won't matter too much !
I tried some cheap self adhesive ones and they just kept dislodging and annoyed me so much I ended up taking them off.

For my next attempt I went to a MAC counter. If you buy their lashes and they have time they will put them on for you (including trimming them to size). They were fantastic and stayed firmly in place all evening.

I have tried to put them on myself since without much success though I need to get some decent lash glue.
Hint: after you put glue on the lash strip, leave it for about 20 seconds to allow it to become tacky before you press it down to your lash line :)
