No rules, but generally unless it's only pennies over I hand over enough pounds and say keep the change.
The only tip I would give them is to get here quicker! :-)

A £2 coin.
£1 - £2 generally, depending on the service and if it's quick........more for larger orders.
It depends if they are on time or not.
I pay online so no money changes hand with the deliverer!
If you consider we usually give a tip in the restaurant for very mediocre waitressing someone who has found your house and is now unzipping that huge bag and getting out your pizza probably deserves something for his trouble.
I'd normally give them a couple of quid extra, unless it turns up late, cold or with parts of the order missing (as often used happen round when I could get pizza delivered)
I wouldn't tip, why should we? The guy gets paid a wage doesn't he?
I'd watch out for the extra mayo in yours, Boo :0) x
;-)
sometimes (but not always by any means) leave a tip in a restaurant, otherwise i'm with BOO on this and wouldn't expect to have to tip a pizza delivery person.
"The guy gets paid a wage doesn't he"

Barely, it's one of those jobs that depends on tips to make the money up.

I make that about £4.30 an hour before tips and they guy has to pay for the petrol he uses.
Yes, probably £2 or round the money up. You've not had to leave the house, use petrol etc and the guy probably doesn't make much or has to use his own car. If he knows you'll tip he may be more likely to get an order out to you quicker and not sneeze on it! Enjoy! Mmm, pizza!
Boo, you could say that about all the people we tip - hairdresser, taxi driver, bell boy, waiter etc. They are being tipped to augment an often low wage and to recognise good service. My daughter and her husband once worked for Dominoes pizza, which is how they met. He was driver and she was serving!
Ok, now this is where i sound totally callous and mean, but....

It's not my responsibility to make sure that a delivery drivers wage is enough to live on, in fact its probably down to people who do tip why their employers are getting away with giving them such an abysmal basic wage.

I've initially paid for the pizza, and its usually way more than what the damn thing is worth to begin with, i accept this and pay the cost anyway, i will not pay additional for that item to be brought to me, given that the cost of the delivery is worked into the cost in the first place.
i don't tip those either grasscarp, apart from waiters, if they've provided what i consider a great service to me.
They generally do a really good job and we tend to have the regular drivers here when we order in chinese, indian, pizza etc, so bearing in mind that their wage is probably pants.....way i see it is that at least they have a job, and are trying to support themselves, so a tip is the least i can do for a good reliable service.
I don't tip delivery drivers. In fact I rarely tip anyone. I'm very much against getting in to a culture where tipping is deemed mandatory like in America. Companies should be prevailed on to pay appropriate wages rather than reliance on tips.
