Should men over a certain age, lets say 50, wear jeans. I'm of the opinion that at 50 its time to hang up the denim and wear a casual trouser. I just don't think men have the shape for it after that. i've been shot down in the office for suggesting this, does anyone agree?

I wouldnt consider a 50 year old as too old alldaysmith, maybe at a pensionable age jeans may not fit as well, let us know when you are 50 if you throw all your jeans away :)
True ttnf. Goodness me, how long ago was that! Armand and Michaela. mmmm
Did nobody see my joke? It was awesome!!!
I started wearing Levis when I was a teenager I am now over 50 and I am still wearing Levis. I don't care what anyone thinks I am not dressing to impress I am dressing to please me. They are totaly presentable.
The thing is, as long as we are not offensive we should all dress exactly as we please. What has it got to do with anybody else - absolutely nothing!!

blimey dave, they've lasted well
mmmm ttnf? I am 29 (and holding), Lottei but remember mother telling me ...................
Bullshirt. I am nearly 51 and I still wear jeans. I will wear them until I die.

My wife still tells me that I have a great behind.
We obviously think alike Dave ;o). That's just it. We should dress for ourselves not to please anybody else. If they don't like it then that's their problem.

everybody can where what they want, i was only after opinions. i can see its something we all have an opinion on. This is really winding up a particular person in my office, and i'm finding it very difficult not to cry laughing at just how offended he seems to be. :)
There are days though when the elasticated waist ones look like an option, lol
By the way, Bob, your joke did make me laugh.
I remember years ago when my sister used to bitch about old workers, how dare they have a good job at 40 when they are so obviously washed up, she is 38 now and I like to remind her ;)

I bet when you are 50 alldaysmith you will change your mindset. I am surprised you have such a mindset at 34 though, Im 35 and Im a lot more "live and let live"
yelenots ///My son wears jeans half way down his bum with his boxers showing he cant walk properly in them coz they falling down //

This "fashion" is an odd one. Apparently it originated as a way to show other guys one was up for a bit of anal action but seems lost on the poor fools that think it is a good look.
Just found a pic of my 86 year old grandad wearing jeans to re-lay his kitchen floor taken two years ago. With a shirt and tie. Bless him.
alldaysmith - if you are at work - shouldnt you be doing some instead of being on this? :) :)
I live in my jeans!! I'm 52. they aren't exactly a fashion statements, they are good strong practical clothing that have been adapted to fashion, and just for your information, my rear has not yet sagged to the floor, it is still in the same place and shape as 30 years ago!!

I don't ever see why men should stop wearing jeans and certainly not at 50!
Beso, I always think it looks as if they have sh1t themselves. It even makes them walk in a fashion that would indicate that is the case. Sorry!!
alldaysmith - I would settle for being able to fit inti the same size :-)

I did have a pair that I had for about 15 years, I nearly cried when they gave up the ghost.
Beso, omg I'll have to tell him!!!
