As soon as I buy something that is "in" it is already "out"!!!
Probably out by now!
Who? Pardon my ignorance.

lol tenrec - don't bother much myself. This is for No1 son - his rain jacket got stolen at swimming the other night - I need to get him another but thought I'd just get a 2nd hand one from ebay. It needs to be properly waterproof so I can't go for a real cheapy but obv. don't want to spend the £50 the first jacket cost. There are quite a few Helly Hansen jackets on there but I don't want to get him something that makes him a bullying target as we've had enough of that already.
you could ask im?

Diasy, they are just a make of jacket - all the teenagers were in to them a while ago - now seems to be more Superdry but they are't necessarily waterpoof despite the name!
him too*
If they are used on e-bay then they probably are "out"!

He won't have a clue B00 and couldn't care less, it's the other boys I have to watch - he had a few years of bullying so I am very careful with what I buy him so that he fits in with what the other kids have.

I usually go for the proper outdoor jackets rather than a fashion name - he does loads of outdoor stuff and that seems to be okay - but there is not that much about in his size.
Better go and stand outside the school gates when it's raining annie:-(

lol - could do ladybirder..
As an auntie to a few pre-teen boys and a 13year old niece i would avoid helly hanson. Superdry and jack wills are the 'in' brands currently. It'll cost ya though!
Definitely not in. I tend to stick to asking my 14 year old son about what brands he is happy to wear, it is slightly different with my boy as he has Aspergers syndrome and isn't always 'aware' of the latest trends, he does seem to know what is out of fashion though and when offered his dad's unused and fairly new Helly Hansen jacket recently he laughed in my face. lol
Have you got a JJB or Sports Direct near you? Maybe you could pick up a Nike jacket or something like that. Not a 'please pick on me' brand but it wont break the bank either.
My son's school has a uniform rule that all coats must be black or navy blue and have no big logos or sports team badges (especially football teams) on them. The last two he has had have been AirWalk brand from Sports Direct (online) and he has been perfectly happy with them.
I'm in the annoying position of having to buy my son adult size clothes as he is now almost 6ft tall, so they cost me more as obviously VAT has to be paid on adult sizes :(
I do sometimes use JJB but they are way more expensive than SD. MandM Direct are another good but cheap site.

And thats where your experience tops me. I generally only go into these shops when its one of their birthdays and i have instructions on which football shirt to buy this year. In and out in a flash. Sports shops make me feel inadequate :)
