Do you think people will still be sending Xmas cards in 30 years time? I know of a few people now who aren't sending them this year.

If I am still here I will still be making mine and I think my daughter will still be doing hers.
I think they will but will be computer generated and e-mailed,how depressing !
Do you think that they'll be banned from having religious scenes on them incase they offend people form other faiths?

At this rate, christmas will be banned even though christianity is the countrys main religion (won't be much longer)
Maybe if there is still a post service!

Seriously, you just made me think of this. IF you are sending a card through the post, please please please, don't just put first names on!!. Most people send one item a year (this one) through the post, and if the address is wrong (as a lot are) we have no chance! Last name at least gives us something to work with.
I wonder if the pack of atheists who have 'intelligent' discussions send Xmas cards?
sorry should have said in the Religion section.....
craft...no, I don't.

But Mrs sqad does.
look sqad........I said intelligent :-)
craft...ah!
craft, do you not find it strange that Atheists post in the religion section ?
Well I suppose it doesn't say it's for religion just religion and spirituality so I suppose it's a free for all. I mean nokno has been known to post in Education.....
thats a good point craft-until nokno reads it..
no chance vulcan.........I said it in joined-up writing......
I haven't sent any for several years, now. They're a waste of time, effort and resources. Much nicer to visit or meet up with them, or have a good old chinwag over the phone.

The first year I didn't do it, it was interesting to see who still sent them to me - clearly some only send them because you've sent them one and they feel they ought to reciprocate, because they were the ones I never received from that year. Shows how fickle they are - mostly family, I hasten to add!

well, all in all it looks as if the tradition will be around for a while (that of course depends on the post-offices still being here) In France they don't send Xmas cards but New Year cards in January but that's dying a death too.
