It's been a depressing year with war, cost of living, etc.

However joyful things do happen in the darkest of times so please tell me what your highlight of this year has been so far....

I guess my highlight was our family holiday to Kos in May. Two weeks of perfect weather, lovely food and relaxation with my two favourite people.

How about you?

I went to the Concert for Ukraine in March and saw Lord Of The Dance in June which were both amazing.

Dave, even a night down the pub with a few laughs can mean something during these rather bleak times.

Not a bad year thus far, been on holiday twice and having another at Christmas ( paid for) grandson got his apprenticeship to be a quantity surveyor ,a little hiccup with my BP but alls okay there, can’t complain at all
Question Author
Thank goodness it went well, Canary.

I hope your BP is better now, Bobbi. I've always had a low BP. When I was in the back of the ambulance after breaking my leg my BP measured 58/35mmHg. The one Paramedic said she did not believe it but I said it was probably correct. It was eventually put down to a Morphine reaction.
It’s going the right way Lcg , had a lovely afternoon in Corbridge with the in-laws sitting in a beer garden then having fish and chips ( inside) I hate eating outside , wasps n stuff ,eweee
Question Author
Sounds lovely, Bobbi. I've had a day of cleaning the house mostly. OH has gone out with his mates on a pub crawl - I hope he brings me back a Singapore Chow Mein. :-)
Got to say the fish and chips weren’t that good , I’ve had better
Question Author
There's a place not far from us that does truly amazing fish and "nuclear" chips (battered and orange-coloured). There is always a queue coming out of the door and down the road. I like them but I couldn't eat them very often.
And no one else has had a highlight this year, that’s such a shame :0(
Two holidays to the Costa del Sol, so far. One in February one end of June. The latter one, we took youngest daughter, partner and little Grandson. Had a great time. Then a couple of weeks ago, we had our family holiday in sunny Weymouth, where the kids absolutely loves it. Gone a bit quiet now :-)
Patsy do it while you can, we do
Question Author
Hi Patsy, we were in Weymouth a few weeks back for a couple of nights. We left here really early in the morning and by 11:30 we were on the Beach with a picnic and some lovely fizz. The little one enjoyed the rides and we had a lovely seafood platter on our second night.

OH is still moaning that it cost him £4 to take the little one on the Helter Skelter!
There’s nothing so nice a seeing Daddy throwing caution to the wind for his little person and riding the fun fair rides
I’ve become much more aware of the local wildlife this year and my highlight was having a rare butterfly land on my shoulder while walking in the nature reserve.

It seems such a small thing but it made my day! Oh and seeing an Osprey on its nest this morning was pretty special.
I know, it's extortionate! Donkey rides are £5 a go..
I don't know how a lot of young families can afford it, especially if you have more than one child. Hope your little one enjoyed it :-)
Maydup I love cats n dogs, especially dogs , birds ? No although an Osprey is beautiful, love butterflies , their colours, I’m not at one with nature , I wish I was
Question Author
I've got a little video of him on the rides but I don't know how to post videos on here.
Question Author
That's delightful, Maydup. We've had a couple of tiny frogs in our garden this year.
