Just bought a wind up lantern, but not figured how to make it power the fridge yet.
i got a wind up torch
So . . .

Is this a wnd up?

lol
Yes of course I do. Before I disclose the details though, you'll have to promise me that you won't patent my ideas before I do. I'll need your assurances in writing!
You're too late. My uncle has a tractor which runs on gas, with a trailer on which he keeps a cow and has a pipe up to it's... eerrr..... you know, where the gas comes out. He recently modernised the contraption by adding a horse and now he calls it a bio-generator.
what do you want the plans for and what sort of power do you want WEhat energy source do you have and how much power do you need. Answers to these questions would help give you an appropriate answer.
Everyone has heard of Maglev Trains which run on tracks with almost zero friction based on a linear motor. The Chinese, clever clogs, have invented a use for maglev bearings that can be used in windmills so allowing the sails to turn with almost no friction.

Its a pity we have invested £bns in windmills of the old variety. Maybe some bright spark can modify them?

rove, using the magnetic levitation method as bearings is not new.

I got a fishtank waterpump 30 years ago and that had the impeller 'floating' around a plastic covered magnetic spindle. This gives practically no friction with continues use and the flowing water keeps any heating to a minimum.
Yes, you're right, it is a pity that this technology is not used more often in various applications.
Magnetic bearings are used in thousands of applications Wildwood.

Not least in Zippe centrifuges to enrich uranium to weapons grade levels.

Hmm perhaps it's pity the technology isn't used a bit less
Wildwood, I believe your water pump had a magnetic coupling, not a magnetic bearing.
