Pi is an irrational number which means that the decimals go on forever without repeating any pattern.

Irrational numbers cannot be exactly represented as a fraction of two rational numbers (which don't).

but 22/7 is a close approximation 3.1428 compared to pi 3.14159.....

How accurate do you need to be?

If Pi is an irrational number and goes on forever how come the circumference of a circle is Pi x D? And as we know it finishes when we start the second revolution of the circle.
When pi has been solved to the last digit, only then will we know the true area of a circle inside and out!
pi as a decimal is not 22/7, it is 23/7. Try it. it's better!!!!
