Oh

at this stage, it is a wave coming out of something and going into another

heat radiating out of a radiaator/heater and heating the room.

electromagnetic radiation coming into the room from a dario station and disappearing down the aerial

fluorescent tube or any light radiating light

extra marks - any body radiating gravity waves - see the look on the teachers face when you say that

good luck
Gravity waves...brilliant...the teacher's gonna love that :)

Also, most domestic smoke alarms all contain a tiny amount of radioactive material...there is a sensor that picks up a flow of decaying Americium-241 ions. Heat and smoke entering this chamber effect the rate at which the ions can flow across the gap to the detector....this in turn triggers the alarm.

Let us know how you get on!

What about the microwave
Phantaxus is right,

Also smoke detectors work with a tiny radioactive sources.

Sorry if this is a bit too late now

How about radiation from the computer monitor?

just out of curiosity does anyone remember a movie where a guy had a grudge againts his work because he'd sat in front of the monitor so long and become burnt or something?
Gravity waves? Is that something really complicated that I'll never understand?

1carazy675 - pretend something in your house is made of granite...
radon gas, a radioactive gas that comes from the ground, common in places like cornwall were underling geology is igneous rocks. new houses in areas at risk are biult with venting systems biult into the basments.
