thing is, if something is a light year away - then what you see is a year ago.
even in the fifties our little piggy eyes widened as we were told that earth light reaching a star 60 m light years away would show dynosaurs roaming

over 10 b light years ( and that is a lorra lorra light years Bazza) , you are reaching the edge of the universe and the light at the beginning

The universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space.
