Here’s A Weird One

Just looked onto the middle of the garden, before it got dark, there was a large lump of what looks like a clod of dry earth on the grass, which must have fallen from the sky! I will have a good look at it tomorrow, but what could it be? It isn’t heavy, but dark brown with bits in…. Should I get it tested somewhere? Spooky ….

On a flight path very close to Heathrow, not a nest, around four inches square although it’s not square. I will take a photo and post it here tomorrow. Can’t think what it would be, if it had come out of a plane, it just looks like a jagged lump of dried earth, no smell.

Is there a water source near you? Could it have come off an animal's coat - fox, perhaps, that had got muddy?

No water nearby, too large to be hanging off an animal. Planes flight path doesn’t cross my lawn.

In the past l have had a wind balloon and a drone land in my garden!

I've had a string of comedy sausages, balloons, teddy bears, those little windmill thingies and all sorts of bizarre things - foxes bring them in, a lot of it comes from the large crematorium gardens nearby

Looks too large to blow out of a gutter, and fallen too far from the house. And no winds!! It’s a mystery ….

There might be no wind at ground level but there's plenty in the upper atmosphere where planes fly.
