All day today I have been able to work in the garden......no hiding from wind or rain and not rushing to get things done before the next shower...bliss...even had a glass of wine on the sunny patio with a passing by man who fixed my one not working solar fountain......

The lawn looks lovely but the bare patches in the borders where I lost plants this winter are annoying.....

I have a pile of large paving slabs from the old patio.....I'm going to place some on the bare patches then find interesting stone statues....birdbaths.....those big ball things....anything that won't die and then grow hardy creepy things around them...

No tadpoles.....anyone have any this year? One frog sighted but the newts are nowhere to be seen.....

Your day?....x

Hi gness, a hint of warmer weather! Nice isn't it to get out there.
interesting in so far as i got a clothes delivery that i ordered and managed by hook and by crook to totter, quite literally back to the shop for a full refund, No arguments, yes Madam that is quite all right, i like that kind of service. Back in time for lunch of some houmous/taramasalata on pitta bread, and then a lie down as the legs were playing up. Not exciting but in the grand scheme of things not a bad day, oh and it wasn't raining, that's a first for a long while, oh bliss indeed.

Oh it is so nice, Eleena......couldn't wait when I got up and saw the day it was......calm and sunny.......
I have a torch that sits on my head...I may just keep going!
Certainly makes you happier gness.
We are in Dorset for a few days and it's been lovely and sunny just a little windy. It's supposed to improve over next few days. Just going out for glass of wine. I'm a bit worried about your newts!.....x
I have been at work but it has been lovely when I went out for a ciggie :-) My highlight was last night really when I saw my first house-martin flying overhead, no swallows yet though.

That sort of service is so much better these days, Emmie.....
Doesn't have to be exciting....just doing things without battling the weather is bliss.....and don't you feel better and brighter!
My day was out early doors to work, shopping, had granddaughter from 3.00pm, did some Urban/ graffiti themed art work with her for a school competition ( Manchester Bee ... Manchester is buzzing!! .. origin so .. one of many?? ;0)
Now having a Southern Comfort and lemonade to ease my site throat that my granddaughter has kindly passed on to me :0)
*should read .. original or one of many*

I love Dorset, Patsy...we had many holidays there and on one trip, as a surprise and knowing how much I adore Thomas Hardy, MrG took me on a surprise outing to see Hardy's Monument....
His face when we got there and found out which Hardy was a picture and for the rest of his life I teased him about it....x

Bit bird deprived here, Prudie.....no idea why as I'm on the edge of the country......in the middle of town in my last home we had so much wildlife......
Nice to have a ciggie when the wind doesn't smoke most of it for you...... ;-)
Pretty place gness. Was Mr G thinking of Oliver Hardy?? :-)
Question Author
That sound fun art work, Eleena.....although not my department I was often given a group of children to take out and do something arty...I loved it.....x
Question Author
Vice Admiral Thomas Hardy, Patsy...the chap Nelson wanted to kiss him.....allegedly..... ;-)
I only have to drive about 200 yds to see Hardy's Monument in the distance. I reckon most people round here assume it's Thomas Hardy but it's the Nelson/Trafalgar (kiss me) Hardy.
Question Author
So lots think it's Thomas Hardy then, Prudie....and not Nelson's friend?

I thought it was just MrG who made the mistake.......and apart from hating to make mistakes he was so disappointed as he wanted to surprise me..... :-)
Had to work my tired brain gness, decorate a Manchester bee print out, front and side shots. Side shot .. "Manchester is buzzing" .. Front shot ... "I love Manchester"
.. both coloured in black and yellow stripes. Went to the trouble of making upper and lower pencil lines ( to contain her writing ) .. but she's a free spirit ;0)
No lots, and I'm talking locals - many who will never have actually gone to look at it and found out. I assumed myself it was the author until I went there. It's an easy mistake as so much does use the Hardy name in the area but that's because Thomas lived in and around Dorchester.
Question Author
I know the tired brain, Eleena....but in truth I miss those times with the children and grandchildren.....I recall making a volcano with my grandson......it puffed out smoke...well talcum powder really...but it was such fun...x

I can see that, Prudie.....for me it's Dorset and Thomas Hardy....and I love his work....so I'd probably not have thought of any other Hardy myself had I known about the monument....but I still teased MrG!....:-)
Yes it's so tiring when you work .. but such a laugh .. she has such a huge character x
