Yep, if I didn't respect Tora's opinion so much I might challenge him but seeing as he's such an open minded and well respected member of the scientific community, I'll leave it there.


try it the other way then lads eh? how will aliens ever reach us? BTW I believe that the universe is teeming with life, it's just that any form of communication is prohibited by the distances involved.

500 light years away, it would take a millennium to say hi and we are not even talking about physically visiting and this is like the end of the street in Galactic terms. I don't think people generally comprehend the sheer vastness of even our solar system, let alone the galaxy.
