I always thought that Teflon was created in the 60s and had something to do with the US space programmes but I've just read that it was invented in the late 30s by Roy Plunkett.  Does anybody know of anything that has been discovered/invented during space travel? Also were there some surgical procedures tested out in space? Thanks
