We're thinking of visiting. Has anyone been - and if so, did it live up to expectations?

It's definitely worth visiting. It has changed quite a lot of the past 5 or so years and there isn't quite as much to do as there used to be - sadly the 'dome' in which you sat down and experienced an overhead show of the patterns of the stars has long gone, but there is a 3D cinema (last time I went there it showed a simulated flight to Mars).
The only advice I'd give is to not view it as a full day out - maybe half a day at most - but you can take a long stroll through the very pleasant gardens next to the car park.
I agree with everything Anax has said.
Definitely go, we went with two young kids and despite the crummy weather spent a surprisingly good 4 hours there.

It does help if the sun is out as there is some walking outside. But if you catch the dish moving that is awesome :-).

Thanks very much, everyone. We'll try it.
Never been, I'll be interested to hear what you make of it.
Question Author
We won't be going for a while, Jim, but I'll try to remember to report back.
How much interest do they give on current accounts?
Question Author
Rather more than most other banks I suspect. ;o)
i've only been there for a conference but remember it as being interesting
Well, if it's a while don't be too surprised if I forget to check back too!
Astronomic rates?
Half a Day - as has been said - absolutely fascinating though.

And they are nice to bikers too - I visited on a seriously hot day & they offered to look after all my helmet/kit for me :)

Out of this world, Ellipsis.
Very good ellipsis.
I'd expect a good Jodrell Bank would look after your helmet though! :)

Dave, is that you? I'm sure you've had a haircut since the last time I saw you - or am I mixing you up with someone else?

Chuck, special safety deposit boxes no doubt.
If you find you've got some spare time after visiting Jodrell Bank, Tatton Park + Hall is well worth a visit.
