Hi All,

I have just been told that medication will stop working if you are on a flight of more than 2 hours. The person who told me is convinced, but I cannot find anything to back it up.

Has anyone else heard of this, or has she fallen for a wind up?

Thanks

Only if the plane crashes after 120 minutes.

Does chemistry fail after 2hr in a 'plane?
Medication is only bio-chemistry. Cabins are pressurised. The answer is no.
That's rubbish, sacred - don't listen to this person. The pill isn't affected by altitude.
I have a relation whose job (flight nurse) is to assist seriously ill persons who have to travel by plane from the place where they were taken ill/injured to their home hospital. Most flights being over 6 hours long .So in answer to your question,No medication will not stop working otherwise they would not move these sick patience at all.
Definitely not true.
Only if you eat the airline food.
Who makes this stuff up?
Sacred's friend it seems.
some friend....
You can always open a window after two hours, the fresh air will probably revitalise the medicines. ☺

Thankyou all. Its all exactly as I thought. I will take great pleasure in giving her all the (positive?) feedback tomorrow.

Cheers :-)
Wind up.
Sorry. I only saw the question and not all the answers!
heathfield there is NOTHING in that link that says that medication stops working on planes. Factors mentioned are stress, dry air, changes of time zone, lower air pressure and lower oxygen content (which may potentiate medicine). In any case, would be careful about taking notice of what that website says. It may say that its "not for Profit" but it has a shop (which by the way in not accessible because of a broken link) and an ebay shop which no longer exists either. The statements are made with no reference to any research or reliable medical journals. If they said that the sky was blue, i would go out and check before believing them.
