holes are not present in the CB

why are holes not present in coduction band. Can anyone please help me understand the reason.

I can't be sure about this, but reading around a bit it seems to me that because the conduction band is where electrons can move about freely, any hole would immediately be filled with one of these electrons and so no longer exist.
Holes are left behind in the valence band in the stead of electrons that have transitioned to the conduction band.
