I wonder if anyone else recalls from the 1970s the loos in St Mary's Abbey Park in York - the park where the Yprks Museum is? The lady who tended them had gingham curtains and brought her budgie with her, little feller chirruped happily in his cage. Utterly delightful .... sadly all gone now.

oh when i was working in the pub s scok was found by the cleaners, having been used for that purpose

I remember those quite well, having used them on a number of occasions when walking back from Bootham Crescent.
It's sh!t employment but somebody has to do the jobbie ! (apologies)
The Philharmonic Pub in Hope Street Liverpool has World famous marbled Gents Toilets which many Tourists visit in order to take Photos. Mentioned here in Wikipedia !

Covent garden had nice loos too...immaculate, and wonderfully restored victorian... they sold postcards.....
