I must begin by confessing to yet another slip up in my marking last week. Having printed off SIX pages of predictions, the second page dropped out of sequence and was overlooked. Fortunately, it contained the details of only three entrants: viz. those of Dinkypuzzled, centrino and jan1956. Two of these were pointless, but centrino went with Flower Power, which entitled him to two more points to add to his earlier total of six points. With a final score of EIGHT POINTS, centrino should have been catapulted to the top of the League Table and pipped ulysses by only one point.

Giving credit where it was due, centrino reached a very impressive total following a very demanding month of Links set by the enigmatic slaney. Nevertheless, ex-champion centrino last set the links at the beginning of this year and therefore I would still have skipped over centrino and gone to second placed ulysses ~ so we would have eventually ended up at the same outcome. The MM Linkers contain some very powerful crossword solvers and none more skilled than slaney and ulysses. Hence, it seems to me fitting that the MM Crown should be passed down from slaney to ulysses.

For those who have joined our ranks in the last two years, apart from completing every difficult cryptic crossword week on week, ulysses is an ardent naturalist (not to be confused with naturist!). I look forward to his second reign which should begin when he opens the channel of communication on AB tomorrow at 08.45am and his four words to be linked should be posted at 9.00am. That’s when the new December MM Links challenge kicks off in earnest. Remember ~ early MM hits gain bonus points!

As usual, I ask that you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz ( Roo-land) and is my good friend, “seekeerz”. She is truly the “Wizard-ess of Oz”. She is an incredibly pleasant individual ~ as long as you don’t mention Test Cricket!

As I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” You have nothing to lose. Both games remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards to trace progress through each monthly contest.

Until I see you tomorrow, may I wish you ~ “Happy Linking”!

:o)
Very quiet on here !! Just popped on to say I have got the dreaded lurgie so won't be around tonight. I think every bone in my body aches (and my teeth do too) Am pretty fed up as I have felt like this for 4 days and am getting fed up just sitting (or lying) watching TV and the snow !!!
Will no doubt be up in time for links but if I am up to my usual standard it will be nil points !!!!
Evening all...Kay sick of lying around doing nothing? What!!!!
Hi both, it is quiet on here tonight. Sorry your still not well Kay.
Maybe they are all putting the decorations up in the shrubbery. :-)
In this weather, they must be mad!!! Haven't even got mine out of the loft yet!
Evening all, sorry you're not feeling well evsajo. I've been catching up on last Tuesday's episode of Turn back Time - fascinating. Still just a bit of snow lying round Warwick, but the roads are mostly clear and we can get about; feel really sorry for all those who are enduring very bad conditions. Hang in there, everyone - it won't last for ever.
We seem to have had it a lot easier in the North West....so far!
Good evening all,

Sorry you're feeling low Kay, I hope that you're better soon. You can't beat a good hot toddy, especially in this weather.

Dug the car out from under 9 inches of snow on Wednesday, intending to go to my office on Thursday, but when I woke up it was under another 3 inches, therefore didn't bother as it carried on snowing for most of the day! In fact, the car hasn't moved since I came in from the golf course on Monday. It's about time the gritters came around my area. At least the M25 is now clear, albeit with up to 10 hours delays (which is why I'm glad I haven't been to the office).

As for decorations, they'll stay in the loft until Chrismas Eve!!
I think we should have Christmas in the Summer!
I suppose that we could all go and join Steff down under, then we could watch the Ashes and gloat!
Let's hope we can gloat after the next match!
watch it, you lot - the wizardess is awake and prowling the halls, looking for some unsuspecting person's head !!! this hot stuff makes her cranky without anyone mentioning 'cricket' !!!
Hi Steff....I will be watching it, when the golf transmission has finished!
Hi twix - don't you ever sleep ??
Hi Stef...don't get yourself too hot and bothered when we win the next one! :-)
Well, I sleep and tonight I am having an early night, so will see you all tomorrow.
Sleep well.
sleep well, pauline, I'll see you later
Goodnight Pauline....sleep well, as snug as a bug in a rug, as the saying goes.

Steff, I don't sleep too well, therefore go to bed between 2 and 3 then get up about 7.15 during the week, either to play golf or off to the office on a couple of days, weekends is a lie-in untill about 9!
Don't mention that word "hot". steff - we are all freezing over here!
