My Mum bought me a purse I can't even fit my fingers in.

I got Ginger a blow-up doll as a joke. We blew it up and Owen ran up and stabbed it with a fork. No sense of humour that boy.
An ex brought me a gnome that had a nodding head. I hate things like that!

i gave my mum for her birthday a newspaper that was printed on the date of her birth. 19th may 1959. was unusual yet really interesting
A dinner set, an ugly dinner set at that by my sister in law for Christmas one year. What made it worse was she spent weeks beforehand bigging it up, so I was expecting something spectacluar or at least unusual or something. Opened the box and thought "what the hell? Oh crap, what can I say, she's grinning in anticipation of my delight...."

A gadget for cutting the top of boiled eggs. I hate boiled eggs anyway and if I liked them I wouldn't need such a useless gadget.

My son bought me a string of green beads that were Christmas Tree decorations from the pond store as he thought they were a lovely necklace! he was only about 7 and he is attracted to sparkly things like a Magpie!
