Help, please! I'm bogged down by websites and figures. I'm trying to work out my car's cost per mile and have included insurance, fuel, servicing, etc., etc., but am blinded by science in how to get at a figure for depreciation.

I run a 2006 5-dr. Ford Fiesta Style 1200 c.c. and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you doing this for yourself or a company?
Can you explain what its for?

If its for a company then your accountant is the man/woman to ask but I belive depreciation is only against tax and is over four years, but you would then be taxed on the disposal.

If its for you how long have you had it how many miles have you done, what did you buy it for and what is it worth now? This a question like "how long is apiece of string"
Depreciation depends on what price you paid fro the car. The attached gives a new Fiesta depreciation over 4 years but assumes an original cost of 10k. If you manage to do a deal where you only paid say £9k then depreciation will be less.

Many thanks, everyone. I think I'll just make it up as I go along!
