In the previous two weeks of the reign of “King John” (aka rockfordill): setter of the MM Links, we have seen two sides of his personality as provider of both the Famine and the Feast (in terms of points scored). How will he shape up this week when I have asked him to tell us how he has spent his free time? As things currently stand, we have quite a few bright sparks leading a strong field ~ and remember that there are FIVE weeks in July in order to determine this month’s winner of the honour of setting the MM Links throughout the month of August.

Sounds like a prudent Lady!! I like her style...
Prudent, as you say Pauline, but also rich!
This is what I don't always do!

For those not always hitting it straight down the middle:

On their honeymoon, the new husband told his bride, "I have a confession to make that I should have made before, but I was concerned that it might affect our relationship.

"What is it?" his new bride asked lovingly.

"I'm a golf fanatic," he said. "I think about golf constantly. I'll be out on the golf course every weekend, every holiday, and every chance I get. If it comes to a choice between your wishes and golf, golf will always win."

His new bride pondered this for a moment and said, "I thank you for your honesty. Now in the same spirit of honesty, I should tell you that I've concealed something about my own past that you should know about. The truth is, "I'm a hooker."

"No problem," said her husband, "just widen your stance a little, and overlap your grip, and that should clear it right up."
Haven't been on here for weeks, have been having trouble getting on but have been keeping up with the goings on. No shrubbery tonight?
Gosh Strix do people really have that much money to spend on watching the golf in the rain, its much better on the tele in the dry!!!
Strix!!...LOL..
Hi Laney...great to see you.
The shrubbery has been flooded out with all the rain!
It isn't really, LaneyB. There's a magic about walking across the fairways (when permitted) and standing beside the greens. Except, I think, on the last couple of days of a Matchplay when there are only a few matches left and the crowds are just too big. But TV coverage is a lot better than nothing!
Good growing conditions for Sarumite's mushrooms though!
tearinghair...you sound a real fanatic! I often wonder what the fun is in following them around, and how on earth do you see where the ball has gone?
I'm, sure your right tearinghair, same with all games its the atmosphere and the chit chat with fellow comrades.
What's with the hosepipe in Manchester Pauline? We have had enough rain here these past few days. Sorry to hear the Shrubbery is under water, poor S and his mushrooms!!
Considering the wind and rain we have had down here in Wessex over the last three days, Pauline, sarumite would need thigh length waders, oil skins and a sou'wester just to venture out the door.
Don't know what varieties of mushrooms, hallucinogenic or of the more normal breakfast fare, sarumite grows but I don't know of any that grow under water!!
Apparently our reservoirs are at their lowest for 14 years! So Manchester doesn't get all the rain! We are all on a hosepipe ban..

What did they do with all the snow?
Now that IS a problem, Pauline, particularly as the eyesight starts to degenerate with age....I try to remember to take binocularsI And I've always found other spectators are brilliant; because I'm fairly small, they make room for me in front of them so that i can watch the putting. Catch a football crowd doing that!

Off to a car boot sale early in the morning, so I won't be guessing King John's links till the afternoon. Perhaps it will give me time for some lateral thinking for once.
tearinghair...no chance at a footie match! I am 5'2'' on my tiptoes and have similar problems when trying to peer over shoulders.

Do you all just follow the golfers after their shots? Do some run off in advance first to watch? You have got me intrigued now.
Presumably, tearinghair, King John's answers will come out in the Wash??!!
So no need to get in there before the rinse cycle!
Stop wasting water Strix!
BTW Strix...how did last weekend go?
Evening all! Hi Strix ~ here's a pic of Miss Strix and her 2 flatmates

:o)
Love it Dusty, not sure that could be let for seven grand for the week!

Pauline the big party is next Saturday (24th) - all totally out of/in control at the moment - a week of rising tempers and sort fuses looms ominously ahead.

I have briefed Master Strix (14) - keep your head down, do what your told, don't answer back, wear asbestos knickers, kevlar body armour just as I will too and we might just live (father and son), un-neutered, to see the sun rise on Monday the 26th July 2010!
Hi Dustybun...lol..I wouldn't pay £7,000 for that!!
Strix...were you having a meal last week?...or visitors?

The 'big do' is next week eh? Can we all come?
