Thanks to you both for these answers. TWINE and TONNE seem completely logical but RHONE is on less firm ground unless it refers to the crimson poppies known as Bouches du Rhone!, which is somewhat distant.....
RHONE is a flower (i.e. something that flows e.g. a river)

queen = r (regina)
darling = honey (term of endearment), taking the year off means remove the Y
I think in this instance flower means river...Rhone...queen = R + hone(y)
