On TV the other night, Tony Robinson was making 'Humble Pie'. It looked quite tasty and I wouldn't mind trying it. Can anyone direct me to a decent, practical recipe for it? I'm thinking of something that uses, perhaps, beef or lamb offal rather than deer.

I did find one recipe, but it involved stewing steak. Now forgive, but that's hardly 'humble' is it?

This is the one I found, Eddie. It's just not what I'm looking for, though. We like offal and have a good source of it at our local market, but deer offal is quite hard to get, hence a recipe with beef or lamb offal would be a suitable alternative. I'm afraid what is, effectively, a steak pie doesn't do it, though.

Thanks for looking, though.

That's great, HC. Thanks ever so much. I notice Mr Robinson's recipe involved wine, but I guess I could build that into the stock.

Cheers
