Does anyone ever win online competitions? I enter a lot this way eg.Real deal, golden Balls etc; but cannot believe I have the same chance of winning as someone who has paid £1.50 to ring in. It would be interesting to know if I'm just wasting my time

Yes you are wasting your time, they are bound to chose someone who has paid for the priviage
Just a while ago there were competitions on TV where you had no chance of winning even if you had paid your £1.50 because the winners had already been picked before the competition closed. A number of TV executives lost their jobs over that.
I'd guess you'd have as much chance now of winning with an on-line entry as with any other. But the odds would still be very slim.
The whole point of these competitions is to make money for the TV show. All free web entries will be discounted.

To be honest, I would imagine most of the winners of the £1.50 a go entry are probably the producer's uncle Stan and so on.
