Don't understand this last clue: 15a Specially prepared meat served during gathering - eating that's marvellous to be recalled (8, two words). I have ?ABY?EEF, and assume it is 'baby beef' but I don't understand how it is arrived at!

maybe something along the lines of:-

during = by (a defn = within the extent or period of; during: by day; by night.)

gathering = bee (a community social gathering)

marvellous = fab, recalled = baf

=> ba-by bee-f

but 'eating' in the clue seems the wrong way around
