1) A load on wheel edge- does it leave pitted appearance ? (8)
2) No longer being intact clue's shifting in part of paper ? (8)

A last rim ( a minor form of smallpox) with wheel as the redundant word.

2) is PUCELAGE. Anagram of clue in page, obsolete (i.e. no longer) word meaning virginity. I'm also sure Slaney is right about ALASTRIM
