I am looking for the answers to 2 down and 4 across. For 2 down I've got A?AL (Clue: pertaining to grandparent) and for 4 across I've got U?EA (Clue: pigment bearing layer of eye's iris).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
Is this a prize crossword?

No this isn't a prize crossword. It appears Monday to Friday in the Daily Mail Coffee Break section and Saturday in the Daily Mail Weekend magazine.
Thanks for the info, billy. The other answer you are looking for is AVAL. (Though perhaps the two clues interlink and you knew that anyway. lol).
